Yes, that's right. At 7 am this morning, this is what the temperature read on my car. It was so hard to believe, I had to snap a picture.
Please excuse the less than perfect (I was shaking so much it turned out blurry) cellphone picture, I wasn't about to pull my good camera out in those temperatures. :)
Three and a half hours later here in Iowa, it has "warmed up" to -12 F. Brrrrr. That's not even with the windchill. Eeekk. I think I will be staying in this afternoon and getting caught up on my postage stamp quilt along. Or maybe cozy up with a cup of hot chocolate and read some great blogs. Oh how I envy those of you who can take great outdoor pictures of your beautiful quilts year round!
How's the weather where you are? Warmer temperatures? :)
That is so cold. I remember a couple times growing up in Idaho when it got down to 30 below. I believe people should not live in those temperatures. :) Our highs have been in the low 20's for a couple weeks, but it's in the balmy high 30's today. I can't wait for spring!
ReplyDeleteUggg! That's cold enough that when you step outside your lungs feel like they are freezing. We are cold and snowy with a fresh 6 inches this morning... and they say that -8 is coming our way this weekend. I'm with you on a sewing and hot chocolate filled weekend!! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteWow. I'm impressed your car started!
ReplyDeleteIt's in the mid-30s in Alabama today. I'll stop complaining.
Oh my gosh. It's like 70 outside. I cannot even fathom how cold that must feel! I'm sending warm wishes your way...
ReplyDeleteWe're all the way up to 6 degrees now, at 1 p.m.! Fortunately the girls and I have nowhere else to be the rest of the day, so we're staying in where it's warm. : )
ReplyDeleteYou poor dear. It is about 69 degrees here in the Los Angeles area at almost 5pm. I honestly have no idea how cold that must feel. The worst I've felt is about 25 degrees when we've gone skiing in the Sierra's.
ReplyDeleteWe are freezing here, too. It is apparently 34 below here (-30 F)...supposed to "warm up" to -12 tomorrow, here's hoping! I actually DO want to attempt an outdoor quilt photo :-)
ReplyDeleteYep, we're a little warmer here in Wisconsin, but not by much. This is why I love my fleecy robe (which is unflattering as all get out, but it's WARM), and why our quilts get used so much!
ReplyDeleteEeeek! I don't even know what subzero feels like! And I DON'T want to know.
ReplyDeleteHere in Sweden we're having a cold winter as well. For several weeks we'd about -20 down to -26 F!! It's no fun to go outside when it's that cold (espesially when you have kids) but if you are lucky you can get some quality time with the sewing machine. :)
