final bee block.
...of the year that is!
both of my quilting bee's have opted to take the month of december off (thank goodness!) so this little tree block for lee is the last bee block of 2011. lee asked all of the ladies of the {sew} beautiful bee to make a block with a tree theme and from there it was up to us. she sent the most delicious pack of fabric for us to choose from and paired it with an essex linen for the background. i.just.love.linen. after much thought, i decided to go with a simple block and showoff that beautiful linen. i'm really digging this simple block and it's making me want to make a larger improv-ish piece.
but that's going to have to wait until after the first of the year because i have christmas gifts to think about! speaking of christmas, i tried this salted almond caramels recipe (from the busy bean) a few nights ago. they are so yummy!
i hope you all are having a great week!
xo, megan.
Love the wee trees. I just posted out my last bee blocks for this year too - yay!

ReplyDeleteThat is really CUTE!!!!! If I could pinch it's cheeks I would!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your block! That fabric for the tree bark is perfect!
ReplyDeletelove this block!
ReplyDeleteLove it! You're right, the negative space makes the block. Thanks, Megan!
ReplyDeleteGreat block! I haven't quilted with linen yet, so really need to try that! (how does it compare with the shot cotton?)
ReplyDeleteYour trees are great! I have struggles with linen... I love the look, but just have a hard time using it. Maybe I'm just not using the right kind?
ReplyDeleteSo glad you love the caramels!
The trees are so cute!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, I love everything with trees!
ReplyDeleteHappy December!
