Insta-Update

September brings new beginnings <3 // i don't share personal details very often, so many of you don't know that I have been commuting 180 miles round trip to work on top of working 60-80 hours a week. meaning sometimes the boy & i only see each other once

Half-way through September already & so many things to share! So how about a little insta-update -- let's start at the beginning! Some of you may remember that the boyfriend, Brandon, and I made the move from Iowa to Minnesota earlier this year. In a whirlwind of about a week's time, we learned of a job transfer (for him), researched & came across a wonderful townhome, packed everything up, and moved! It was an exciting time -- everything just fell into place & we feel extremely blessed for all of these new opportunities. Fast forward 6 months and I found myself still commuting to Iowa -- 3 hours round trip -- for my job, both of us working lots & lots of hours, and sometimes only seeing each other once a week. The situation was not ideal but we trekked on, chalking it up to "us being young" & that "someday things would work out."

just finished up my first day at the new job, & i was sent home with this beauty. not bad for the first day, eh? #berninausa

Well that "someday" started at the beginning of September! I started a new position as Sales Manager at a local quilt store & BERNINA dealer in Southeast Minnesota. With a little luck -- or fate -- the opportunity presented itself and I'm so thankful of the outcome! Sometimes it takes a leap of faith & a push outside your comfort zone, both of which can be very scary, for good things to happen. And to be completely honest, I'm the happiest I've been in a very long time. Change is indeed good! More on that later.

finishing up a deadline #berninausa

Speaking of BERNINA, I finished up my first project as a Sewing Expert for the We All Sew blog. I'm particularly excited about the project and can't wait to share it will you all! Here's a little sneak peek of the quilting -- straight-lines, of course! Any guesses on what it could be?? The full project & step-by-step tutorial will soon, but I'll be sure to let you know!

potted a few tiny little succulents, I can't get over how CUTE they are // any tips for novice gardener?

I started a few house plants this month -- like these little succulents! I just can't get over how they are so tiny & cute! A special thanks to those of you who gave me tips on Facebook & Instagram, so far so good! I've even started a few cuttings and those seem to be doing well, too! All good news for someone who has little-to-no experience in the green-thumb department.

How's your September going?

xo, Megan

  2. Congrats on the move to MN. Where is the shop located? We are planning a trip to MN for a wedding in a couple weeks and I'm sure a few quilt shops will be included.
