Alright, let's talk about my project. Alison was so generous to send the Bike Path collection my way -- including the matching prints from her previous collections! I decided to play around with some pieced quilt blocks, focusing on using only one print & a crisp white background fabric. The color saturation & clean, modern print of the fabrics speak for themselves.
This block is from the first mini quilt of the Fresh Mini Quilt Club: Round 2 -- more on that coming Monday! I really love how each block turned out, especially with the prints all running the same direction. These little details make my heart sing! Now I just have to decide on a block layout and size for this quilt!

ReplyDeleteA question unrelated to this post :S I recently got the 'quilty' magazine issue that contains Chevron & On. I'd like to make this quilt with the Bungalow bundle that I just won but I have a question. The way that you've stated to do the HST would not be my preferred way, I don't like working with the cut on diagonal square and that stretchy bias edge. My question is, if I want to do the one square of print on top of one square of solid, sew on the diagonal - twice and then cut in between, do I still cut the squares the same size as stated in the cutting instructions. 4 7/8" ??? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a quilt.

I am done piecing and am wondering about ideas for quilting this mini!! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThe Old Maid's Puzzle block looks very pretty in those colors!
ReplyDeleteI would like to do a bright quilt using this. I would be selfish and keep it for myself for once.
