Even water, needles, and snakes.
I am afraid of wonky.
...well, in terms of sewing, my friends and family will attest to the fact, I live my life a little wonky! :)
Pssh!
Ok, back to sewing. For the month of August, Kati from From the Blue Chair asked each of us {Sew} Beautiful Bee-ers to make a wonky log cabin block. Ok not a huge deal, right? WRONG. I was completely nervous/anxious/flippin' scared! You see I like order, rules, and organization, especially when I sew. And because of this (and my nasty procrastination habits) I have stalled out all month on actually making this block--sorry, Kati! :)

LOVE IT! For being terrified of wonky, you did a great job. This is exactly what I was hoping for. Way to push yourself. I didn't realize wonky was so scary for people. There are several in our bee who mentioned this was a big stretch. I'm glad I chose it to give you all a chance to try wonky. I definitely agree that bees are all about pushing yourself a bit.
ReplyDeleteYay! Good job, it looks great! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Great job! I think I will have to join a bee sometime, I would love to learn all these cool blocks!
ReplyDeleteI'm the total opposite! I love wonky, anything I don't have to measure or calculate is my cup of tea. These are great wonky blocks, love the color scheme.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so glad you went outside your comfort zone. I love your wonky block, and the colors you chose are frickin' awesome! You did wonderful!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of your block! And I totally understand your fear of wonky.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you about rules and organization when I sew -- I freak out if my seams don't match and my points aren't perfect (a lot of freaking out going around here, to say the least). Anyway, that said, your block is beautiful--I love it even though I'm a little crossed-eyed trying to figure out how you did it.
ReplyDeleteLove it and love the colors! :)
ReplyDeleteThey look fab! My bee blocks for this month are wonky too, but we got a link to a great tutorial that I really hope is going to help me this evening!

Just in case you're ever hit with one again, and another panic attack!
After always focusing on trying to get my pieces even and straight, I haven't been able to make myself try wonky. I'm not sure I can do it mentally/spiritually/emotionally...but your block looks really cute!
